Peru San Ignacio Decaf
This lot is a blend of day lots from producers in the San Ignacio districts of Chirinos, San Jose de Lourdes, and Tabaconas, known for their ideal growing conditions at high altitudes. The main varieties are Caturra, Bourbon, Catuai, and Typica. Due to the small size of these lots, they have been combined to create a blend with a sweet and full-bodied flavour profile.
Peru has often been seen as an unreliable origin for coffee, but the Andes’ rich volcanic soils and tropical rainfall provide the perfect environment for high-quality Arabica.
At Alchemy we put as much effort into finding the right decaf as we do with the rest of our range. As coffee that has gone through this process tends to age quicker, we make an effort to buy only lots that have very recently landed in UK.
This coffee works well as filter and espresso, with milk or without.
Expect a sweet full bodied cup with a subtle underlying fruitiness that is expected from a great Peruvian coffee.
