Ethiopia LaLa Salama Decaf
This decaf coffee originates from the Alemu Adama wet and dry mill in Ethiopia’s Sidama region. Situated at a high elevation of 1750-1950 meters, the mill prioritizes quality through careful cherry selection, controlled fermentation, and drying on raised beds. Traceability is ensured at every stage, from farmer delivery to final storage.
Beyond exceptional coffee, Alemu Adama is deeply committed to sustainability and social welfare. They actively train farmers and staff in crucial areas like deforestation prevention, water protection, and responsible waste management. They extend support to the local community through health insurance for low-income families and contributions to essential infrastructure projects such as road construction and spring water resources. Future investments focus on eco-friendly processing technologies, demonstrating their dedication to minimizing environmental impact and fostering a supportive environment for their workers and the wider community.
This coffee has undergone the Co2 decaffeination process – an environmentally conscious and natural method that uses pressurised carbon dioxide to extract caffiene.
At Alchemy we put as much effort into finding the right decaf as we do with the rest of our range. As coffee that has gone through this process tends to age quicker, we make an effort to buy only lots that have very recently landed in UK.
This coffee works well as filter and espresso, with milk or without.
